Biographical Information

Susan has served patients
in the behavioral healthcare industry since 1992, with extensive
experience in social integration and family systems. She has
provided treatment for children, adolescents, adults, and families
with mental health needs. Susan employs a wide range of treatment
options, including cognitive behavioral therapy, family systems
theories and social integration. Her approach to treatment does not
just view people in terms of their diagnoses, but also with
consideration to the needs that must be addressed to ensure that
they experience an improved and ongoing quality of life.
Susan began her behavioral
healthcare work with runaway youths in South Florida as a crisis
counselor with Project Safe Place. Subsequent experience in the
field has included individual, group, and family therapy with
children and adolescents in both partial hospitalization and
residential treatment facilities. Most recently, Susan served as
program manager for a psychiatric residential treatment facility
with responsibilities for supervising the clinical team to ensure
the integrity of program activities. In this role, Susan also
provided individual treatment for adults with chronic and persistent
mental illness.
Susan received her
Bachelors of Science in psychology from Michigan State University
and her Masters in Social Work from the University of Central
Florida. She is a member of the National Association of Social
Workers, certified as an ACSW through the Academy of Certified
Social Workers, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the state of
Florida, and a Registered Play Therapist with the Association for
Play Therapy.
