Britt Staton, MA

Biographical Information |
Britt Staton graduated
from the University of Florida in 1996, with degrees in Psychology
and English. She then attended Reformed Theological Seminary,
earning a master’s degree in Counseling in 1999. Her internship was
at Northland Community Church in Orlando, Florida. She is currently
a registered mental health counselor intern.
As a pastor’s wife for ten years,
Britt’s passion has been advocating mentoring relationships among
women. She has taught women and led groups at several Presbyterian (PCA)
churches in Georgia and Florida. Her experience as a therapist
includes counseling within the church, as well as practicing at
Crossroads Counseling in Augusta, Georgia.
Britt’s
special counseling interests are gender issues, marital conflict,
parenting, depression, anxiety and grief. She uses an eclectic
approach, but emphasizes the relational authenticity and
here-and-now immediacy of Gestalt therapy. Her therapeutic aim is
not only that clients find healing for symptoms, but that they
become more fully and creatively alive.
Britt
particularly enjoys helping artists integrate their spirituality and
creative gifts. She is a freelance writer whose publishing credits
include
The Church
Leaders Answer Book, Leadership Journal, Ignite Your Faith, Group
Magazine, Maggie Mae, and Metro Augusta Parent.
Britt is a founding member of
Women in Art, a support group for Orlando women artists.
