Dr. Heidi Napolitano
Biographical Information

Dr. Heidi Napolitano specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents and adults with a variety of psychiatric disorders including Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar Disorder and Schizophrenia.  She also has extensive experience in treating patients with self-injury and substance abuse issues.

Dr. Napolitano received her degree as a Medical Doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, and then completed her residency training in psychiatry at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.  She has had experience in treating patients in many different settings.  Her inpatient work has included evaluation and treatment of patients on forensic units, in dual diagnosis programs, and in an adolescent sex offender program.  She has experience in acute psychiatric/emergency inpatient treatment, and also in long-term residential treatment programs for the severely chronically mentally ill.  As a resident, she served as Chief Resident at the Arkansas State Hospital, and also did additional work as an on-call psychiatry consultant at the Arkansas Children’s Hospital.

Currently, she is seeing outpatients at two locations:  she continues to see patients at her outpatient practice in downtown Orlando, at 417 East Jackson St., Orlando, FL  32801;  she also is now seeing patients 3 days a week at her new office at 7601 Conroy-Windermere Rd., Suite 202, Orlando, FL  32835.   She also is one of two psychiatrists treating the patients of Pasadena Villa, which is a long-term residential treatment facility for chronically mentally ill patients.

Dr. Napolitano’s philosophy in treating her patients revolves around actually taking the time needed to really listen to the person who knows the patient best, which is of course, the patient.  She then combines her training and experience, along with logic, common sense and a genuine concern for her patient’s well-being, to provide accurate, informed and caring guidance and treatment.  She also stays well-informed of cutting edge treatments and technologies in the field of psychiatry, and thus is able to offer a bigger variety of diagnostic and treatment options.
