Aaron Moore, MA, MA,

Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern IMH5191
Biographical Information

Aaron Moore grew up on the gulf coast of Florida, attended the University of Florida and received a degree in Psychology.  He is a graduate of Reformed Theological Seminary, with a master’s degree in Counseling, as well as one in Biblical Studies.  Aaron has worked with teenagers and their families for the past nine years through Younglife and other church ministries, followed by four years as a youth director at St. Paul’s Presbyterian Church in Orlando, FL. After seeing the need for a much more in depth approach to counseling and healing, he completed his counseling education and began work as a therapist.

Aaron’s work as a therapist has included working with adults and teenagers with issues such as depression, issues of spirituality, relationships, anxiety, abuse and trauma, ADHD, and behavioral issues.  In addition, he has developed a strong focus on working with issues of addiction after working with adults in recovery in an outpatient addictions clinic.

Counseling often carries a negative stigma in our society, and Aaron has worked hard to counter this by offering adults and teenagers a place where they can be themselves, being open about their lives and struggles, without being judged or dismissed.  As each person is unique and more dynamic than any program, Aaron believes helpful counseling must employ a variety of therapeutic interventions to be the same.  Aaron utilizes a multifaceted approach in order to work with the client in a way that best fits who they are and who will engage their heart the most.  His goal is to find help and relief for symptoms while always addressing the core issues of the heart in order to find real healing, and not simply a surface change in behavior.
